Penn returns from PUP list, moves to right tackle

Donald Penn was one of three Raiders to start training camp on the PUP list, and for a time, it looked like his career in the Silver and Black could come to an end. Rumors began to fly that the team wanted him to take a paycut, and with rookie Kolton Miller playing so well, the need for a left tackle suddenly became a little less.

However, Penn actually did decide to take the small pay cut, getting some extra guaranteed money for himself, and returned to practice the next day. When he did return to the field, the coaches had him move to right tackle, where there is a real possibility he stays this season.

Miller is only a rookie, and Penn has been a Pro Bowler since coming over to the Raiders. The team may not want to trust Carr’s blindside with a rookie, but with both Miller and Penn on the field at the same time, the starting offensive line for Oakland looks like it could be the best in the division, if not conference.
