With preseason game No. 2 in the books, we take a look at what the 53-man roster could look like for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Oakland Raiders showed very little to the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, which was the right thing to do, considering the two teams meet up in a couple of weeks when the games count. The Raiders and Rams will open up the 2018 regular season against each other inside the Oakland Coliseum, in a game that should be one of the best on the opening week slate.

As we start to get even deeper into the preseason, the 53-man roster should start becoming a little clearer. However, after only two preseason games, there are a bunch of spots still to be earned, and you can expect the position battles to ramp up even more in the coming weeks.

With that said, here is our 53-man roster projection after the Rams game.

Special Teams (3): K Eddy Pineiro, P Johnny Townsend, LS Andrew DePaola

No big surprises here, and there likely will not be as long as everyone is healthy heading into the regular season. Eddy Pineiro did not kick on Saturday, after tweaking his groin in practice, but should be ready to go for Friday night’s matchup against Green Bay.

The special teams group this season is completely different than last year, and while they have looked good this summer, it is always scary going into a season with a new unit. In addition, Pineiro and punter Johnny Townsend are rookies, so it will be interesting to see how they perform at the professional level early on.
