Raiders 53-man roster projection after preseason game No. 2

Wide Receiver (6): Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson, Martavis Bryant, Ryan Switzer, Griff Whalen, Marcell Ateman
Heading into the third preseason game, head coach Jon Gruden is still looking for someone to stand up and be the team’s No. 3 wide receiver, which speaks volumes to the summer Martavis Bryant is having. However, he is a lock to make the roster, but other guys are starting to inch closer to him on the depth chart.
Ryan Switzer and Griff Whalen should both make the team, and surprisingly, Whalen is having the better preseason. Rookie Marcell Ateman has shown he can make catches over the middle, and with his lanky frame, he should be a guy that not only makes the team, but gets some red zone action during the regular season.
The combination of Jordy Nelson and Amari Cooper at the top of the depth chart is an elite one, and both should benefit from the Raiders new coaching staff. Nelson has come in and become a leader in the wide receiver room, and for a young guy like Cooper, that is going to help him become an even better receiver than he is today in the long run.
