3. October 1, 2017 at Denver Broncos
The October 1, 2017 game on the road against the Denver Broncos is mostly known as being the game that Derek Carr broke his back in. That was the beginning of a terrible run for the Raiders, who would see their high expectations blasted in a six-win season that saw the entire coaching staff get shown the door.
On the defensive side of the ball, Mack was a monster for the Raiders, racking up seven tackles to go along with two sacks. He pestered Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian all game long, and nearly led the Raiders to a narrow victory despite the fact that Carr missed most of the game with the back injury.
Mack would rack up two sacks in a game again in the 2017 season, later on in the year against the Dallas Cowboys. However, during his Raiders career, he showed a knack for picking on the Denver Broncos and their quarterbacks, and this game in early October was just another example of that. Oakland lost the game 16-10.
