Derek Carr

With the arrival of Jon Gruden as the team’s head coach, the expectation was that Derek Carr was going to have a monster season in 2018. However, if Week 1 is any indication, there are more questions than answers when it comes to the fifth-year starter, who tossed three interceptions in Week 1.

Interceptions are going to happen, but it was the kind of interceptions thrown that were worrisome for Raiders fans. Carr gifted Marcus Peters a pick-six late in the game, threw one to Cory Littleton that actually surprised the defender, and had another one in the end zone on an under-thrown ball.

This is not the Carr Raiders fans are used to seeing, and he insists that the injuries the last two seasons played no role in his performance on Monday night. It is only Game one, so Carr should be able to rebound from this, because if the Raiders are going to surprise teams this season, it all starts with No. 4.
