Oakland Raiders: 4 players who must be better in Week 2
By Brad Weiss
Reggie Nelson
Reggie Nelson got the start at safety for the Raiders on Monday night, and he put together one of the worst performances in the NFL at his position. Nelson has been given every opportunity to be a standout player for the Raiders during his time with the team, but has just not lived up to the expectations of the coaching staff, or fan base.
The most incredible part about it is that he played every defensive snap for the Raiders against the Rams, and put the kind of numbers that should make Raiders fan cringe. He was bad against the pass, and the run, playing a big role in the team’s breakdown during the second half.
His time as a starter for this team will be coming to an end with another performance like the one he had on Monday night. Keenum and the Broncos love to challenge the secondary, so this could be a make-or-break game for Nelson in Week 2.
