Conley will be an elite CB

The hope heading into the 2018 season was that Gareon Conley could stay healthy, and finally realize his potential as a legitimate CB1 in the NFL. Well, Conley has stayed healthy through the first two games, and is garnering a lot of respect from opposing offenses, as they have shied away from him for the most part.

In Conley, the Raiders have that top cornerback that the team has been missing in recent years, and his fellow starter, Rashaan Melvin, has also been impressive. It took the Raiders 11 games to get their first interception last season, but Melvin accomplished that feat on Sunday, and Conley should find himself with a pick or two in the next couple of weeks against teams like Miami and Cleveland.

If the Raiders were to have a strong season in 2018, they needed to be better in the secondary, and while the safeties have struggled, the cornerbacks are playing good football. Conley is going to be a top cornerback in this league, and if he reaches his potential, he will be well worth the first round choice the Raiders took him with back in 2017.
