TahirWhitehead

Tahir Whitehead was brought in to be a leader of this linebacker group, and while he has played decently this season, he is going to need a monster game on Sunday. Baker Mayfield presents all kinds of trouble for the Raiders defense in Week 4, and if the linebackers cannot do a better job in coverage, it could be a long day.

Whitehead had the worst coverage game of nearly every outside linebacker in football according to Pro Football Focus last weekend, and that has to change in a hurry. The Raiders were absolutely picked apart by Ryan Tannehill on Sunday, and Whitehead was the only member of the team’s defense that played on every defensive snap.

The only outside linebacker who was worse in coverage in the NFL last weekend was teammate Marquel Lee, which makes Whitehead’s effort that much scarier. He has the talent to be a Pro Bowl caliber player on this Raiders defense, and he will have a golden opportunity to really step up in a big way for his new team on Sunday against Mayfield and company.
