Looking forward

The Raiders win may only run their record to 1-3 on the season, but you never want to start the year out at 0-4, because that is almost certainly going to land you outside of the playoffs. Oakland played with a lot of heart in this game, winning a big game in front of their home fans, sending the Browns back to Ohio with their second loss of the season.

If the Raiders are going to do anything this season, they need Derek Carr and Amari Cooper to be on target, and they certainly were on Sunday. Oakland got a big game from a ton of players, including Gareon Conley, who had his first interception return for a touchdown. Jared Cook was a beast in the passing game, and Jordy Nelson showed how he can turn a game on its head.

The defense came to play for the first time all season, and you could see they desperately wanted to win this game. They got pressure inside, and that led to Mayfield making some bad decisions, that ultimately led to the Raiders getting the ball back in plus territory.

Next Week

The Raiders will look to continue their winning ways in Week 5, when they head to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers in a monster AFC West battle. The Chargers took care of business on Sunday at home against the San Francisco 49ers, but they have a much-better Bay Area team coming to town on October 7.
