Bruce Irvin
Bruce Irvin got to Baker Mayfield once during the Raiders 45-42 overtime victory on Sunday, but he will need to do a lot better if the Raiders are going to come away with the road win against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers have the talent to strike quickly, and without a pass rush against the aging Philip Rivers, it could be a long day for this defense.
According to Pro Football Focus, Irvin had his worst game of the season on Sunday, and that just cannot happen against an offense like the Chargers. He needs to get the pressure on Rivers, who can light up an offense in a hurry when he has time.
For the season, Irvin has only two sacks, so he is off his pace of his goal of double-digit sacks, which he set for himself this offseason. Arden Key continues to get better every game, and it is now Irvin’s time to step and be the leader this defensive line needs.
