Carr leads the NFL in passing yards after Week 5

For those who believed that the Derek Carr-Jon Gruden relationship would not work, only has to look at Carr’s development in this offense the last couple of weeks. The fifth-year starter is absolutely racking up passing yards this season, and is on pace for nearly 5,500 yards in year one under Gruden.

Last weekend, Carr threw for over 430 yards against the Cleveland Browns, and on Sunday, he could get close to the 400-yard mark again. This Chargers defense allowed nearly 300 yards to CJ Beathard last weekend, so you can only imagine what Carr and his cast of weapons can do against them in Week 5.

Carr heads into Week five as the No. 4 passer in the NFL, and sits only 41 yards behind Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for first place in league. The Raiders are going to rack up yards against the Chargers, and Carr has more than enough weapons to counter an improved secondary in Los Angeles.
