Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots

Once again, the Chiefs are involved a must see game on NFL Sunday. The tests for Patrick Mahomes just continue to get handed to him. This weeks test will have him measure his talents against the New England Patriots in Foxborough.

Mahomes will have a much easier time going up against the Patriots defense, as opposed to the Jacksonville Jaguars defense he faced last week. The Chiefs defense was the key to their win against the Jaguars. That probably won’t be the case on Sunday night.

Tom Brady and the offense have started to click on all cylinders ever since their win to the Miami Dolphins in week four. They completely dismantled the Indianapolis Colts  defense last week on Thursday night football.

They should have no problem replicating that performance at home against a Chiefs defense that isn’t scary. To make matters worse for the Chiefs defense, it looks like they’ll be without pass rusher Justin Houston. It’s going to be a bit more of a challenge to get to Brady without him.

The Patriots defense has always been sufficient enough to get the job done. However, they’re going up against one of the best offenses in the league. To try to account for the plethora of weapons they have is an uphill climb. The Jaguars defense presented a solid formula to slowing down Patrick Mahomes last week. The Patriots are sure to replicate that formula and insert their own modifications as they see fit.

This game has the makings of a shootout and surely the NFL will want that. The future of the NFL in Mahomes versus the greatest of all time in Brady. With that said, I see Mahomes and the Chiefs barely edging out the Patriots in an exciting game.
