Jalen Richard

This selection should tell you all you need to know about how bad the Raiders were on Sunday. Now, I don’t think Richard has a place on the roster in the coming years, but hear me out. Richard has really established himself as the pass-catching option in the Raiders back field.

The Raiders were trailing and needed to throw, so it makes sense that Richard was out there for 40% of the offensive snaps. For reference, the other backs Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin played 50% and 12% respectively. Richard recorded 7 receptions for 48 yards, including a huge 21 yard run after the catch that resulted in a first down.

Richard should be getting more work than Martin, and hopefully this week is evidence that he may start getting that opportunity.
