Arden Key: the lone bright spot

There’s no beating around the bush, there were not many highlights in the Raiders’ corner after Sunday’s outcome. The offense was nearly shut-out, the defense was beat on the ground and through the air, and there are little to no positives to take away from the performance in London. The bright spot came with Arden Key picking up his first sack of the season, though it was overshadowed by the team’s lackluster play as a unit.

We’ve been wanting to see a hint of a potential pass rush from the defensive line, and rookie Arden Key always seemed to have the upside to fill that role. As an edge rusher Raiders’ fans were hoping on a week-to-week basis for him to record his first NFL sack. Well, they got their wish and it just so happened to occur in their worst game of the year (so far).

In the larger view, its good that he finally managed to bring down the quarterback. He’ll need to build off it after the bye week to give this pass rush and fans some semblance of hope and positivity, they’ll need it for sure.
