Bolster depth up front on offense
The Raiders have one asset that Gruden is not willing to part with, at least yet, and that is fifth-year starting quarterback Derek Carr. However, through the first six games this season, he looks more like his brother, David Carr, did during his time in Houston, as he is continuously on his back.
If the Raiders are to stick with Carr as their signal-caller moving forward, they have to do a better job in getting more depth up front on the offensive line. We have already seen Kelechi Osemele miss time this season, Jon Feliciano get hurt while filling in, and Donald Penn get placed on injured reserve, and we are only at the bye week.
Oakland has incredible talent up front in guys like Gabe Jackson, Osemele, and Rodney Hudson, and Kolton Miller and Brandon Parker have looked very good for rookies. The problem is, there is no-one behind them, so when they go out with injury, which happens every season, Carr is pretty much a sitting duck back there.
