Revamp the wide receiver group

The word around the organization is the Raiders are going to try and trade Amari Cooper because he does not have passion for football. Wow, that is certainly news to Raider Nation, as we have seen the 24-year old put up some great seasons in the NFL, and have never seen him as a guy who does not love the sport.

This offseason, the Raiders made a lot of moves to the wide receiver group, getting rid of Michael Crabtree, and replacing him with Jordy Nelson. In addition, they traded away a third round pick for Martavis Bryant, and decided to keep Seth Roberts around for another season. Heading into 2019, this entire group needs to be revamped.

Nelson will likely stay, as he has had his moments, and is locked up for another year. If the team does trade Cooper, they need to go out and sign someone to be at the top of the depth chart, possibly a guy like Josh Gordon, who is an unrestricted free agent next season. 2018 draft pick Marcell Ateman should get a long look next summer, and has that rangy athleticism that should play at the NFL level.
