One of the more questionable moves the Raiders coaching staff has made this season is they choice to sit Gareon Conley, removing him from the starting lineup. Conley was the team’s first round selection back in 2017, and missed most of last season, but showed some flashes during the early games this year.

However, he has barely played in his NFL career, and despite Gruden saying he wants to see more from him, Conley was pretty much inactive against the Seattle Seahawks. Maybe he gets more run in the coming weeks, but for now, the coaching staff appears to have little faith in him, which is a huge issue with the roster moving forward.

The hope is Conley can get back into the starting lineup, because the rest of the group is up in the air. Rashaan Melvin and Daryl Worley are both free agents after the season, so adding a player like Iman Marshall from USC this late in the draft makes sense. Marshall was once considered a first-round talent, and would be a nice addition to a position group that is going to have a lot of changes for 2019.
