Bruce Irvin

I’d wager that Jon Gruden would love to trade away Bruce Irvin in a heartbeat. I just don’t think it’ll be much of a return if he does trade him. Why would any team give up anything for a questionable player? He’s a question mark with his play and he’s a question mark with his antics.

The only teams that would even consider having interest in Irvin are teams that are in the playoff hunt. Being in a winning atmosphere would benefit Irvin. Not just because it’ll affect his attitude in a positive manner, but his productivity will rise.

Being traded to a contender would most likely mean he’s not their best pass rushing option, which is perfect. We’re currently seeing Irvin be the Raiders best option and that clearly isn’t working. Irvin is at best a team’s second pass rushing option, so maybe a contender will give up a meaningless seventh round pick.

It wouldn’t be a bad trade for the Oakland Raiders either because they’re probably going to cut Irvin after this season.

So why not get a little something for him, rather than nothing. Still, it’s difficult to see a team actually trade for Irvin. A contender is the only real option since it’ll be basically a one year rental. I’m sure Gruden will definitely let it be known to teams that Irvin is available for essentially nothing.
