Doug Martin

As soon as Marshawn Lynch was lost to injury, Doug Martin had his name called to step in and be the “featured back” in place of Beast Mode. Safe to say he played to perfection, with 13 carries for 72 yards averaging 5.5 yards per rush. Martin is known as a momentum back and his play spoke for itself, muscling his way through defenders and helping move the chains for the offense. His power-back play was the perfect complement to Richard’s role in the passing game.

Of course, Martin’s strong day was spoiled by his costly lost fumble in the fourth quarter. Mistakes are killer in any game but especially on Sunday, as this was a win that the Raiders desperately needed with the offense and Carr playing his best in a while.

Martin will want that fumble back for sure, but despite how costly it was we can’t knock his overall play for the day that’ll be needed for the rest of the season.
