We have already discussed the Raiders issues at the linebacker position earlier in the draft, and getting a player of Devin White’s caliber to take over at middle linebacker would be a serious upgrade. However, they also need help on the outside, and one player that should be available in the fifth round would be a guy like Ben Banogu from TCU.
Banogu has played defensive end for the Horned Frogs, but I like him moving to the outside linebacker position at the next level. A First-Team All-Big 12 selection, he plays with the kind of motor that the scouts are going to love, and has a knack for getting into the backfield and making plays.
The Raiders need a major overhaul at the linebacker spot, and in White and Banogu, they would be bringing in two young, very talented players who can flat out hit. It has been a long time since the Raiders have had young talent at linebacker that would get this fan base excited, but these two guys could come in and make an impact right away.
