Looking ahead

The Raiders may not win another game the rest of the way, as the schedule gets really daunting after they play the Arizona Cardinals next week. This Raiders team has so many holes on both sides of the ball, and the offensive line just cannot get any protection for Derek Carr at this point.

Carr was harassed all game long by the Chargers, and with teams like Kansas City twice, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore still on the schedule, the Raiders will be lucky if he does not get hurt. There were some bright spots on Sunday, like rookie Maurice Hurst along the defensive line, but they just do not have enough talent to hang for four quarters right now.

With the loss, Oakland fell to 1-8 on the season, and are a lock to be picking in the top-3 of the 2019 NFL Draft. This team is in full rebuild mode, but they do have three first round picks next April, so the opportunity is there for Jon Gruden and company to turn this roster around very quickly.
