The Oakland Raiders came away victorious at the Arizona Cardinals’ expense in the desert. Here’s five takeaways from their second win of the season.

First overall draft picks are overrated, and the Oakland Raiders would much rather give their fan base another win among a frustrating 2018 regular season. Albeit that’s probably not what Jon Gruden and the Raiders were thinking heading into their matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, but their victory was a needed boost to the team and fan morale.

Despite notching their second win of the season Oakland still finds themselves in excellent draft position come April, so the fans of the Silver and Black will gladly take this win. It was a battle between two equally struggling teams that seemed motivated to let the other walk away with a victory, but the Raiders battled to seal the game winning field goal as time expired.

Despite not too many spotlights when looking at the box score, there were notable performances from the Raiders personnel that should be acknowledged and perhaps more importantly, we saw a little bit of grit and fire that was to be expected when Gruden took the helm.

Here’s five takeaways from the Raiders 23-21 win over the Cardinals.
