Injury bug strikes again

Speaking of the receiving unit getting thinner and thinner, the injury bug once again continues to plague the Raiders, and it was the receiving unit that took another blow. Brandon LaFell reportedly tore his Achilles tendon in Sunday’s win, and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.

It’s another loss that has forced Oakland to patch up their receiving unit and give Derek Carr the needed help on the outside. Prior to his injury LaFell tallied two catches for 29 yards, also connecting with Carr in the end zone.

LaFell was brought in to help replenish a little bit of receiving depth for Oakland, but his loss to injury will prove to be untimely. Thankfully the debut of Marcell Ateman gives fans a little more hope as the Raiders hope to avoid the injury bug for the rest of the season.
