Oakland Raiders full seven-round 2019 NFL Mock Draft
By Brad Weiss
It is no big secret that the cornerback position for the Oakland Raiders has been an underwhelming group for quite some time now. Back in 2017, the team decided to utilize a first round pick on the position, bringing in Gareon Conley from Ohio State, who basically sat out his entire rookie season.
However, Conley has been getting better each and every week, and is starting to look like a guy who could be an elite cover cornerback in this league. Thanks to the fact the Raiders traded Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys, they have their first round pick next April, and they should use the pick to bring in another young corner to team with Conley in the starting lineup.
There are a handful of first round cornerbacks in this draft class, and DeAndre Baker from Georgia is definitely one of them. Baker would be a perfect compliment for Conley, giving Oakland their best cornerback tandem they have had in a very long time. Whether or not it is Baker, you have to think the Raiders grab a corner in round one next April.
