The Oakland Raiders played host to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, and while they played them tough, they ended up with loss No. 10 on the season.

There is nothing like beating your AFC West rival, and on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs did just that, beating the Oakland Raiders on the road. This game was slated to be one of the more lopsided games of the weekend, but like they always do, Oakland hung in tough, before coming out on the losing end.

Kansas City got the ball to start the game, but the Silver and Black actually caused a rare turnover, as Tahir Whitehead forced a fumble that Nick Nelson scooped up. However, the turnover amounted to nothing, as the Chiefs would go on to score on their next possession, as Patrick Mahomes hit Travis Kelce for the first of two first half touchdowns.

Down 13-0, Oakland was able to find the end zone before halftime, as Doug Martin scored for the second straight game. Unfortunately, Oakland left too much time on the clock for Mahomes, as he drove his team down the field and hit Kelce again for a score. Oakland blocked the extra point, and the two teams went into the locker room with Kansas City up 19-7.

Oakland got the ball to start the second half, and drove down the field, putting three points on the board thanks to a 50-yard field goal by Daniel Carlson. After the field goal, KC responded, as Spencer Ware scored from one-yard out to give the Chiefs a 26-10 lead.

Unlike the rest of the season, Oakland did not fold in the second half, and instead, put themselves in position to come away with the upset victory late. In fact, after a Carlson field goal put them down by three with under a minute left, they had the opportunity for the onside kick, but it was recovered by Kansas City.

This Raiders team showed a lot of fight on Sunday, and should be applauded for their effort. Had it not been for the defense allowing way too many third down conversions in the fourth quarter, they could have pulled off one of the bigger upsets of the NFL season in Week 13.

Here are the highlights from the action on Sunday afternoon.
