Gareon Conley continues his strong play
Heading into the season, and even the trade deadline, the thought was the Raiders could move on from 2017 first rounder Gareon Conley. The coaching staff appeared to have no confidence in him, and he had really struggled to put consistent snaps together.
Fast forward three weeks, and Conley is playing as one of the best cornerbacks in the AFC West, and is shutting down the best wideouts the opposition throws at him. He is a guy that is going to be a building block on this defense for years to come, and he, and the rest of the secondary have another tall task ahead of them on Sunday.
Conley and his teammates will have to find a way to shut down the tandem of Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, a task that has proven to be impossible all season long. You can bet that whoever Conley is covering will not be targeted, as the Steelers have one of the better scouting staffs in football, and will likely try rookie Nick Nelson and Daryl Worley.
