player. 28. . Tight End. Boston College. Tommy Sweeney. 187

During his time at Boston College, Tommy Sweeney established himself as one of the better tight ends in the ACC, and his efforts were certainly rewarded recently. Sweeney was not only named First Team All-ACC, but also was invited to the Senior Bowl, where he will get to practice, and play in front of tons of pro coaches, and scouts.

Oakland has gotten great production from their tight ends this season, but a big decision looms when it comes to Jared Cook, who has been Derek Carr’s favorite weapon over the last two years. Cook has had a breakout season in 2018, and you have to think many teams are going to be clamoring for his services this offseason.

Lee Smith has caught a touchdown in three straight games, and they got a surprising effort out of Darren Waller this past weekend against Cincinnati. Still, Sweeney is a very good talent at blocking, and in the pass game, and he could be an option for the team late in the 2019 NFL Draft as a value pick in the sixth round.
