Bring back Jared Cook

The best receiver for Derek Carr over the last two seasons has not been a wide receiver at all, but his tight, as Jared Cook has led the Raiders in receiving yards in 2017 and 2018. This season, Cook has established himself as one of the best tight ends in all of football, and was absolutely snubbed when he was not voted into the Pro Bowl.

Still, the Raiders organization knows his worth, and it would be great if they could come to terms with him on a new three-year deal after the season ends. They are getting good play from all of their tight ends, but Cook is the leader of the group, and needs to be brought back in 2019, especially with so much change expected at the wide receiver position.

Cook is on pace for his first 1,000-yard season in 2018, and has shown he can completely open up the middle of the defense. He has gained Carr’s trust, and you have to think the Raiders will be in serious consideration when he makes his decision about where to play his football in 2019 and for the rest of his NFL career.
