Calling all wide receivers

The wide receiver group for the Oakland Raiders has taken on a new life form during the 2018 NFL season, as it was expected to be led by two very good players in Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson. Well, Cooper was traded during the trade deadline, and Nelson only recently has started to look like the player he was with  the Green Bay Packers.

During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Raiders spent a seventh-round pick on Marcell Ateman from Oklahoma State, and he looks like a player who could stick at the NFL level. Guys like Seth Roberts, Dwayne Harris, and Martavis Bryant have filled small roles throughout the season, but this team needs to bring in an elite talent at the position, whether it is in the NFL Draft, or through free agency.

Incredibly, Derek Carr is putting up solid numbers despite the fact he has no true WR1 on this roster, and has actually played better since Cooper was traded. Oakland needs to find their next big star on the outside, because the tight ends are picking up the slack, and there is no real deep threat on this roster to speak of as it stands.
