Raiders secondary steps up
The secondary for the Raiders was hit heavily with the injury bug ahead of Monday night’s game as they were missing both of their starting cornerbacks (Gareon Conley and Daryl Worley). Even with a depleted Denver receiving corps, Oakland’s secondary would be tested.
The defense stepped up as they have for the most part in the latter half of the season, and this time they came away with a win as well. Case Keenum was picked off twice on the night, one pick hauled in by Marcus Gilchrist and the other by Erik Harris, who continued his strong performance from last week.
Perhaps they had the advantage with the extra motivation and atmosphere surrounding the Coliseum, but the secondary nonetheless stepped up huge when they could have easily been taken advantage of due to injuries.
