Carr will break Manning’s record

Through his first five years as the starting quarterback for the Oakland Raiders, Derek Carr has had plenty of high times, as well as lows. During the team’s best season of his tenure, the 2016 campaign, he was on his way to a possible MVP award, before breaking his leg on Christmas Eve against the Indianapolis Colts.

Through all the losses, wins, and injuries, Carr has remained consistently solid, and is on the brink of breaking a pretty impressive record on Sunday. With 15 completions, Carr will pass Peyton Manning’s record of most completions in a quarterback’s first five seasons, which is a testament to just how good Carr has been.

Manning is an all-time legend, and sure-fire Hall of Famer, so to see Carr approach one of his records is very exciting. Carr has been under the microscope quite a bit this season, and incredibly, some Raiders fans do not consider him the team’s future at  the quarterback position, which is downright preposterous at this point.
