Conley is a keeper

Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley cleared concussion protocol and was back on the field for the matchup with the Chiefs. The Raiders struggled at corner, but Conley hit his stride and produced at a high level all season.

On Sunday, he made his presence known by making a monster play. Mahomes, with plenty of time, fired a deep pass headed right for Tyreek Hill and the endzone. Conley intercepted the pass inside the five and saved the Raiders from further embarrassment.

The Raiders have had high expectations for Conley since they drafted him in the first round in 2017. He was injury-plagued and looked to be another Oakland draft bust until this year. Conley has often been the lone standout in a defensive backfield that was looking for someone to step up in 2018. It took him a while to come into his own, but he should definitely have a role on next year’s roster.
