2. Need weapons on offense

One thing was abundantly clear on Sunday. The Chiefs have far superior offensive talent when compared to the Raiders. Doug Martin, Jordy Nelson, and Jared Cook cannot compete with Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, and Travis Kelce. To compete in the NFL you need to score points, that is an indisputable fact.

With the current group of guys on offense, scoring points is not easy. Derek Carr needs more weapons to throw to and needs a consistent running game to help take some of the pressure off of him.

Don’t get me wrong, Doug Martin ran well in recent weeks and eclipsed 100 yards in back-to-back weeks. He just isn’t dynamic enough to lead the rushing attack in Oakland. The Raiders should invest one of their many draft picks on a running back like David Montgomery or Myles Gaskin. In addition, they need to get rid of Tom Cable and fix the offensive line, that will help a ton.

At wide receiver, I fully expect Jon Gruden to make a splash signing in free agency or use one of his first round draft picks on one. Whether he throws money at Golden Tate or Donte Moncrief or selects someone like Kelvin Harmon or D.K. Metcalf, there will be a new number one receiver in Silver and Black next season.
