Exclusive-Rights Free Agents

An exclusive-rights free agent is a player that that has only accrued two seasons or less in service time in the NFL. These free agents are not able to negotiate with any other team, unless their team does not tender a qualifying offer. Players that are tendered must sign the qualifying offer or sit out the rest of the season.

Trent Sieg, LS

Once Andrew DePaola went down in Week 1 with a season-ending injury, the Raiders needed someone to come in and be the team’s long snapper. While Trent Sieg did an admirable job, DePaola was signed to a monster contract for long snappers this past offseason, which means Sieg will be allowed to walk.

Tevin Mitchel, CB

This past January, the Raiders signed Tevin Mitchell to a reserve/future contract, and was placed on injured reserve back in August.

Jason Cabinda, LB

The former Penn State Nitanny Lion showed flashes during his rookie season, and will likely be back with the Raiders in 2019. He is a guy who can fill a void in depth at the middle linebacker spot, and should be a part of the team’s future moving forward.

Daniel Carlson, K

One of the better surprises of the 2018 NFL season for the Raiders, Daniel Carlson looks to be the team’s long-term solution at kicker. Carlson was given a second life in the NFL by the Silver and Black after being cut by the Minnesota Vikings, and went on to connect on 16-of-17 field goals, while making all of his extra point tries.

Marcell Ateman, WR

The Raiders seventh-round selection this past April, Ateman is a guy who will be in the team’s plans, as he has a big body, and showed that he can make tough catches in his short time on the active roster as a rookie.

Justin Murray, T

Justin Murray was brought in this past September to add depth to the offensive line, and is a guy who will likely not be brought back in 2019.

Shilique Calhoun, LB

After a solid preseason, Shilique Calhoun struggled to stay on the field this season, as he was bitten by the injury bug, and did not have much of an impact on the regular season.
