Greedy Williams, Cornerback, LSU
The Raiders got a tremendous lift this season from Gareon Conley, who went from Jon Gruden’s doghouse, to being one of the better cornerbacks in the AFC West. Conley, the Raiders 2017 first round selection, got off to a slow start to his NFL career, and is now officially the CB1 this team has been missing.
This season, the Raiders rolled the dice on two free agents to add depth to the cornerback group, bringing in Rashaan Melvin and Daryl Worley on one-year deals. Worley played very well down the stretch, and is only 24-years old, so the team would be wise to bring him back in 2019.
With the No. 4 overall pick, they could continue to add talent to the group, and Greedy Williams from LSU is the best player in this draft class at the position. He is a guy who could be placed into the starting lineup from day one, and with Conley, Worley, and Williams at the top of the cornerback depth chart, this position all of a sudden becomes a strength moving forward.
