Oakland Raiders 7-Round Mock Draft entering Wild Card Weekend
By Brad Weiss
Due to the trades they made this season, sending Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys, and Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears, Oakland will pick three times in the first round in April. The second pick they hold in the first round should once again focus on the defensive side of the ball, though this time at the linebacker position.
Oakland has not had a standout middle linebacker in many years, and in this year’s NFL Draft, they could find an elite talent this late in round one. Mack Wilson from Alabama is an absolute beast from his middle linebacker position for the Crimson Tide, and would be an immediate starter for the Raiders as a rookie.
The Raiders got solid play from Jason Cabinda in limited action this season, and Tahir Whitehead led the team in tackles from the outside. Cabinda could provide good depth on the inside, and with Wilson and Whitehead as two of the three starters in 2019, Paul Guenther’s 4-3 scheme would be much improved in the second level.
