Safety. Mississippi State. Jonathan Abram. 66. player. 28.

The safety position for Oakland has long been an issue, as they have had to trot out Reggie Nelson way too many times over the last two seasons. This season, the position group took a step in the right direction, as Karl Joseph finally started hitting his stride, and Erik Harris showed why he earned a roster spot this summer.

Joseph, the team’s 2016 first round pick, looks like a first rounder in Paul Guenther’s defense, and is one of the hardest-hitting safeties in the league. While Harris is a nice player, the Raiders will certainly want to add to the group in the 2019 NFL Draft, and nabbing Jonathan Abram in the third round would be a solid pick.

Abram is by far one of the better safeties in this draft class, and has a round 2 or 3 grade on him. Oakland picks very early in round 3, and if he can sneak out of the second round, the team should pounce. He is incredibly athletic, and was an AP third-team All-American for the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2018.
