Oakland Raiders 7-Round Mock Draft entering Wild Card Weekend
By Brad Weiss
Jared Cook is have a career renaissance playing for the Raiders, and the hope is the team can lock him up to a two or three year deal this offseason. Guys like Lee Smith and Derek Carrier also had solid seasons at the tight end position in 2018, and Darren Waller was a nice addition late in the season.
In the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Oakland holds two picks, and could use one of them on the tight end spot. Kendall Blanton is a sure-handed tight end from Missouri who loves to block, and if the Raiders try to cut payroll at the tight end spot in 2019, he would be a nice pick this late in the game.
Lamar Jackson was benched this past season while playing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but was able to overcome the benching, and have a solid season. When he is on the field, he is one of the better cover corners in the Big Ten, and in the seventh round, would be a nice get for the Silver and Black.
The Raiders need as much help as they can get in the secondary next season, and adding three young players to the unit will help immensely. Jackson is a talented defensive back, and if he can stay consistent, he could add great depth to the cornerback depth in 2019.
