Oakland Raiders 7-Round Mock Draft entering Wild Card Weekend
By Brad Weiss
The biggest hole on the Raiders roster this past season was on the edge, as the trade of Khalil Mack prior to the season really hurt them in this department. Bruce Irvin was supposed to step up and be a leader in Mack’s absence, but he played so poorly that the team ended up releasing him in the middle of the season.
In the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Oakland drafted Arden Key from LSU, who is raw, but has the potential to be a double-digit sack guy eventually. With the fourth overall pick in 2019, the Raiders should look to add a player on the edge, and Clelin Ferrell from Clemson should be available at No. 4.
Ferrell is an absolute beast on the edge for the Tigers, who are playing in their third College Football Playoff National Championship Game in the last four years. He is a big reason why the Tigers defense has been one of the best in the nation again this season, and on the Raiders, he would be an impact player in year one.
