Martavis Bryant

Well, the Raiders traded a third-round pick for Martavis Bryant even though the Steelers appeared to be willing to give him away for far less. They then cut Bryant before the season due to Gruden not feeling he was up to speed with the playbook and lacked versatility. For anyone who ever watched a Steelers game that Bryant played in his limited route tree was evident so not sure what Oakland was expecting to get from Bryant.

They then decided to bring him back in week two and over 8 games he recorded just 19 receptions for 266 yards and zero touchdowns. He was then beat out by Brandon LaFell for a starting role after the Amari Cooper trade although LaFell didn’t record a catch until week 8. Bryant then hurt his PCL which eventually led to him going on IR after Week 13.

And to top it all off, Bryant was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement from a previous ban. This latest suspension is Bryant’s third in four seasons.

In conclusion, I’d say that trade was a loss for the Raiders.
