Cut: Seth Roberts

The experiment of Seth Roberts becoming a breakout wide receiver has to come to a close this offseason, as the Raiders will be looking at ways to cut cap space. Roberts was a guy the team expected to play a big role for them at the position moving forward, but he struggled once again in 2018, playing for a team  that needed guys to step up and help once Amari Cooper was traded.

If the Raiders keep Roberts on the roster, he will cost them $4.65 million against the cap, which is just too high for someone with his production. If they decide to cut him, he would cost $0 in dead cap space according to spotrac, so it makes sense that they would make that move this offseason.

The Raiders are going to revamp this wide receiver group, as Jordy Nelson and Marcell Ateman should be the only guys with a spot locked up for next season. They will have to re-sign Ateman to a new deal, but he should come a lot cheaper than Roberts, whose career in the Silver and Black will likely come to an end.
