Let him walk: Reggie Nelson

Reggie Nelson’s contract with the Oakland Raiders is up after the 2018 season, and the team would be wise to let him walk. He just is not good enough to be a starter in this league anymore, and at 35-years old, his best days are definitely behind him.

The Raiders do not have a ton of depth at the safety position, and this offseason, they have to address that. Erik Harris stepped up big time during the 2018 season, and former first round pick, Karl Joseph finally looks like the stud he was during his days at West Virginia.

Oakland will likely spend an early draft pick on the safety spot as well, and while Nelson is a good veteran to have around, he just has no space on the roster moving forward. Gruden loves older players, but Nelson was exposed far too often in 2018, and will be shown his walking papers this offseason.
