Offensive Player of the Year: Derek Carr
Derek Carr was an easy choice for Raiders Offensive Player of the Year honors, as he stood tall in 2018, and delivered one of the best statistical seasons of his NFL career. Despite all the noise going on around him, Carr managed to put up 4,000 yards passing for the first time in his career, while mastering a very intricate offense.
For the season, Carr not only finished with 4,000 yards passing for the first time, but also completed nearly 69% of his throws. In addition, he broke Peyton Manning‘s record for most completions in the first five years of a career, and passed Rich Gannon for second all-time in passing yards, and third in touchdown passes in team history.
Overall, it was a very successful season for Carr personally, though he will be the first to tell you it is about wins and losses. It looks like new general manager Mike Mayock is going to continue to call him the franchise quarterback for the Raiders, and before all is said and done, he will have rewritten the Raiders record book.
