DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia

One of the better surprises of the 2018 NFL season for the Oakland Raiders was the play of Gareon Conley, the team’s first round pick back in 2017. Conley struggled with injuries during his rookie season, and got off to a slow start in 2018, but came on to become one of the best cornerbacks in the AFC West.

With Conley firmly inserted as the CB1 for this team moving forward, the Raiders may want to use another first round pick on the position. This late in round one, they could end up with a guy like DeAndre Baker from Georgia, who is one of the more polished corners in this draft class, and was a shutdown player in the SEC.

Daryl Worley is only 24-years old, and Nick Nelson was a fourth round pick of the team in 2018. Still, the Raiders could add Baker to the mix, giving them a young core of solid cornerbacks moving forward, turning a position group that has long been a weakness into a strength in 2019 and beyond.
