Daryl Worley

While Jared Cook and Jon Feliciano are a toss up to come back, I feel very strongly about cornerback Daryl Worley coming back. Following the season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs, Worley took to Instagram to dedicate a post to Jon Gruden. It was a post to thank him for the opportunity and believing in him.

Given how gracious he is towards Gruden from that post, I’m sure he would love to stay and play for him, which would be a fantastic sign. Worley ended the season on a good note after starting his first few games as burnt toast.

Worley seems like a diamond in the rough find. It makes the depth at corner look much more respectable. It also solves the mystery of who is the Raiders CB2. To be a threatening defense in the league, teams have to have three legit corners since nickle formation is the new norm. Worley isn’t a David Amerson either, who performed well his first season but completely flamed out afterwards. Worley has much better ball skills, the stats back it up.

The guy just has a nose for the ball and that’s a player worth investing time in and further developing. Alongside Gareon Conley, Worley could be a fantastic addition for a secondary that desperately need quality starters.
