Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints, 1:40pm PT Sunday

Philadelphia will have to travel to New Orleans and play the Saints in the Superdome. The last time this happened was about 2 months ago when the Saints beat down the Eagles 48-7. The biggest difference this time around is the person who will be at Quarterback for the Eagles. A back up last year, Nick Foles led this team to the Superbowl. Most would have thought Foles would land a huge contract in the off-season, instead, we see Foles in the same exact spot as last season.

Although Nick Foles has been a fantastic player, and this is a great story, it’ll end this weekend. I’m predicting the Saints to win 38-28. The New Orleans Saints have the 3rd best offense in the league and have scored more than 30 points in 10 of 16 games, and more than 40 points in 6 of 16 games this year. These offensive numbers are absurd. To take it a step further, the Saints average 37 points per game in 7 home games this season, not including week 17, as they rested there starters. I don’t think the Eagles can stop the Saints, nor will they be able to score enough points.

The last point I’d like to make as to why the Eagles will lose is because I don’t like how their defense is built. Their strength has largely been their defensive line. They are ranked as the #7 defense against the run but are the 30th worst pass defense. This is the complete opposite of how the Saints play. The Saints strengths come from their quick fast-past passing game, which helped this team put up over 540 total yards on the Eagles last time they played. Any chance for the Eagles to win will rely heavily on the Eagles getting after Drew Brees and controlling the clock.

Prediction: Saints 38, Eagles 28
