When it comes to the Raiders secondary,  there were way too many questions than answers heading into the 2018 season. In fact, the organization still did not know what they had with first rounders Karl Joseph and Gareon Conley, two guys who were picked early in the 2016, and 2017 NFL Drafts, respectively.

Well, both Joseph and Conley shined in 2018, and will be looked upon to lead this group moving forward. Conley proved himself to be a shutdown cornerback, and Joseph, while always known for being a hard hitter, showed he can do much more than just come up and make a big hit once in a while from his safety position.

While Joseph, and Erik Harris both played well at safety this past season, Oakland needs more help at the position group in 2019 and beyond. One player who could be available in the third round is Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, who excelled at the position during his time at Florida, and would be a guy who could come in and challenge for a starting role in year one.
