Jon Gruden and his staff will coach the North team during the Senior Bowl this year, and he will get an up-close and personal look at some elite defensive talent.

Jon Gruden is not done coaching yet, as he will be the man in charge of the North team during the Senior Bowl next Saturday. Gruden and his staff will be coaching up a team loaded with guys heading to the NFL, and they will get an up close look at some of the best talent in all of college football.

Not only will Gruden get to coach both sides of the ball, but he will get a close look at some defensive players that could be donning the Silver and Black next season. The North team is full of defensive talent that could really help the Raiders next season, and you can be sure Gruden will spend a good amount of time scouting, as well as coaching.

Some of the names you may want to keep an eye on when it comes to the defense are guys like Penn State cornerback Amani Oruwariye, who many believe to be a first round pick. In addition, linebackers Cameron Smith (USC), and Te’von Coney (Notre Dame), are both guys who could be picked in the first couple of rounds.

You can check out the entire North squad here.

On the edge, Gruden will get to coach two elite talents during the Senior Bowl in Boston College’s Zach Allen, and Oregon’s Jalen Jelks. These two guys should hear their names called in the first two round next April, and Allen is one of the more electric edge rushers this draft class has to offer.

The South team is also pretty impressive, as guys like D’Andre Walker (Georgia), Johnathan Abram (Mississippi State), and Otaro Alaka (Texas A&M) would all look good wearing the Silver and Black next season. Also keep an eye on Buffalo wide receiver Anthony Johnson, and West Virginia wideout David Sills V, as both players would be a nice addition to the Raiders roster.
