Linebackers

It is no big secret that the Raiders need some help at the linebacker position, as it is a position group that has been a weakness for some time now. Sure, NaVorro Bowman played well during the 2017 NFL season, but the group failed to perform at a high level in 2018, and will need some reinforcements via the NFL Draft.

Te’von Coney, Notre Dame

A standout linebacker for Notre Dame, Te’von Coney is a guy who could really help the Raiders immediately in 2019. A powerful middle linebacker, Coney has an incredible grasp of the game, and is a player who can make plays from sideline to sideline.

Coney was named a First-Team All-American by Pro Football Focus, and at the next level, will be a standout middle linebacker who can captain a defense. Oakland is missing that piece, and could get Coney in the second or third round in 2019.

Cameron Smith, USC

Cameron Smith has been a talented middle linebacker for USC for quite some time now, and many believed he would have been a first round talent had he entered the 2018 NFL Draft. While he is more likely going to be a Day two pick, Smith is one of those guys who plays with a great head on his shoulders, and is one of the surer tacklers this draft class has to offer.
