Anthony Nelson – Defensive End, Iowa

Every Raiders fan knows that edge rusher needs to be addressed and not just in the first round. There are a few pass rushers that may not bring the high upside of the guys at the top but are still very capable and Anthony Nelson is a prime example.

Nelson brings tremendous size and length at 6’7 270 lbs and is someone who can not only get to the quarterback but set the edge in run defense. He has great hands which allow him to have multiple pass rush moves and counters to go along with his power.

He doesn’t appear to be that great of an athlete, but can still turn the corner and get by tackles. And at his size, it will be interesting to see if he move inside and provide mismatches as an interior rusher. Nelson will be participating in the senior bowl too so it will be great to watch the one on one drills and see him go to work.
